She would have been 100 years old today, my teacher, my friend. But she died a few months ago. Sadly, she died alone, without even a 'goodbye old friend', because of Covid, and a million other unfortunate things that had plotted to keep us apart. She was my friend. And today she would have celebrated a century on this wonderful earth, a place she made better for so many. Teacher, farmer, welder during WWII, she was the guardian angel for so very many, though she herself never had any children. Funny how God often moves in such mysterious ways. Today is her birthday, and there is no cake, no candles, no hugs. Just a lot of regrets and should-ofs. Goodbye dear friend, though you have passed along, please know your light forever lives on. With love, and so very much gratitude, your eternal friend. R
