Sleaze Land – Chapter 7 (Anal Worms) Part 2
“Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.” Oscar Wilde
After the meeting concluded, Emma immediately did two things; first, she ordered a sandwich, and then she poured herself a vodka.
And then she took a seat at her desk and pondered her position.
“Janet, tell that over-inflated selfie-whore Clide, ‘two pm in my office’. And get that lazy-ass Ackles guy back from his holiday. And tell him, ‘this isn’t your regularly scheduled programming’ and remind him of that hole he has yet to fill… and that it can only be filled - one of two ways. Ya?”
“Sure thing, Ms. Jorgensen,” her AI assistant chimed in her earpiece.
Which caused Emma to sigh yet gain... because stress can make even getting what you want feel uncomfortable.
You see, currently there were over a hundred natural disasters people were dealing with on a global scale.
We’re talking destruction of a magnitude which had never been seen before, unless you count the big flood in the bible, that is.
And all of it was putting a strain on local governments world-wide.
That’s why the UN and other international platforms had started stepping in, to fill in the holes left by all of the corrupt governments – that had destroyed infrastructure, economy, and the environment, in equal measure.
But Emma knew it was The Ides that people should really be concerned about.
Formed initially by a small group of prostitutes working under a brutal Police Chief pimp, the clandestine organization had grown exponentially in the past decade, as the use of DNA identification became easier and easier to access.
You see, thanks to companies like; 27 & me, DNA Forever, Unmasked Ancestry, and Hidden Potential (which was so ironically named – in the end), these low-level prostitutes were now not only able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt who their johns were, but now they able to track their families as well.
This gave the sex workers all the leverage they needed to not only topple the entire pimping industry – but to turn the entire power structure of the world on its collective head.
You see, once they’d gained the ability to take full control of their lives, the sex-workers first mission became payback.
Payback for all those who’d held them hostage in a system that was designed to not only control sex workers – but also to create them.
And now, suddenly, this rag-tag group of sex-workers (of all gender types) was now the most influential, as well as the most insidious organization of all.
And most people attributed it all to a single woman.
One woman who sits above the Council of Nine – but prefers to remain out of the lime-light and anonymous to fame.
So, now, it was the Council of Nine and The Ides that controlled most of the free media, as well as many of the politicians within the different governmental organizations still standing, along with several highly ranked UN officials.
You see, the thing that had once made sex-workers vulnerable, was what they ultimately used to take control over their entire environment. Proving, in fact, the meek shall inherit the earth – at least to Emma’s mind.
And while she wasn’t a fan of the UN, she also understood the very real threat an organization like The Ides imposed. An organization outside any influence, an organization that was spread across every inch of the planet like a fungus.
An organization that knew intimately the most damaging secrets of the world’s most powerful people.
And all because those in power had been too confident in their own intelligence, their own prowess, and their own power.
But power is always available – to those willing to claim it – by any means necessary.
So, Emma sighed, and then braced herself for what was about to come. Because if she knew anything it was this…
The Ides fully intended to use the Sleaze Land Trials as their coming out party.
And she didn’t think fireworks was the only display of power they had in mind.
