Royalty

There's distinction between average
and Royalty
do not let yourself be deceived
nor relieved
we are not yet reprieved.

For true Nobility does not eat
until the last has supped. 
Nor does it deign to dine
with the morally corrupt.

True Nobility does not lead from the rear
nor does it act from fear. 
First into battle they charge
always to discharge
the overlarge.

First to shed blood
First to navigate the flood
First to engage the enemy
no matter the remedy
be it wit or steel.

Being Royal
is not how you feel.

It's what you do
when the boogeymen come to call
when all the world is held in thrall.

Royalty is not a name
nor title.

Nor will you find it among the unjust
the vain
the greedy
the inept
those ever-devout
to their own vanity
those who've abandoned
their humanity.

Nobility sings the old songs
in new ways
for they do not shy from any storm
but build
and build
and build
shelters for the forlorn.

True Nobility does not care
about hearsay
nor does it waste time on idle things
it only cares
how justice rings.

Nobility has no need for history
unless benedictory
for the whole,
unless it corrects
for what evil men stole.

So take heed,
Nobility will surely make you bleed
whenever
there be a just and Noble
need.
